Background
NFT 101
I am working with a client who is interested in the world of NFTs. They are requesting an app to make it easier for the average consumer to discover a place to display and purchase NFTs.
Problem
The concept of NFTs is not yet fully understood by the general populace.
For newcomers, there is a high barrier to entry with the initial startup.
The Process
1.Empathize
Understanding The Target Audience
There are a lot of different types of people who take part in the world of NFTs. Some are trying to make a quick profit by buying and selling and others collect them as a body of fine art. There are also the artists themselves who make and trade their own rights.
Target Audience
The group I am more interested in is the first-time collectors who lack knowledge about NFTs and are interested to start learning about them.
Research
What is a NFT?
A non-fungible token (NFT) is a unique digital identifier that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided, that is recorded in a blockchain, and that is used to certify authenticity and ownership.
Example of an NFT
In normal terms, an NFT is like owning a fine art painting but it's a digital piece of fine art they are both so supposed to be priceless.
Van Gogh Starry Night
Takashi Murakami signature flowers NFT
Explanation
As an artist myself, the world of NFT was very interesting to me, I didn't know anything when starting this project. I was grateful for this client who was also interested in NFT. But when we both were doing our research we learned that it was very difficult for the first-timer to find any information bout this topic. So NFT 101 was born
Client Interview
While talking to my client, they requested a more accessible platform for people to understand NFTs.
The client mentioned having a UI design similar to Duolingo but geared toward people who are interested in NFTs but don't know where to start.
Duolingo is a learning program that helps you learn about different languages in an easy and simple way.
Competitive Analysis
Competitive Analysis Findings
What I have learned from this competitive analysis is most of these NFT websites are:
They share a lot of similarities in the user interface and design.
Open Seas has a few key differences from the other websites (videos, hierarchy, and color palate)
Interview an NFT Artist
Taylor Bystrom
Is a transgender American pop artist telling the story of the created man? Since transitioning from female to male, Bystrom has been creating conversations around gender identity and sexuality through 3D paintings and wearable art. All of his paintings and wearable art come with retro red and blue 3D glasses.
MFA from Goldsmiths University of London Class of 2020

Interview Question
What made you interested in NFTs?
Utilization of my art pieces in a different space.
Where did you go to learn about NFTs?
Asked questions within their community.
Where do you display your NFTs?
Open Sea.
What was the most difficult part when learning about NFTs
There is no complete compendium about NFTs and there are lots of scammers hanging around trying to use people's lack of knowledge.
What is your motivator for owning an NFT?
The ability to spread my work within various platforms.
2.Define
Client Meeting
After having or discussion about what we both have learned throughout what we talk we thought it would be smart just to work on the learning aspect of this app compare to buying and trading and selling so we decided to team up and work with Open Seas hunts the concept makes me feel like a treasure hunt and game-like experience of learning continuing the conversation of Duolingo

Low fidelity
Here you can see all of the design
High fidelity
Here you can see all of the progression.
3.Test/Prototype
Prototype
Here is one flow I ask my user to do
Prototype Results
I was gracious enough to test this flow of understanding of what an NFT is here are some key understandings
20-30 ages knew what and under what they were doing
40-60 they still don't know what is going on
Need to make it simpler for people 40-60 of age
Revision
Just like in the art world revision are helpfully when you have a group or a person is able to tell you what doesn't look right and working together on it helps

version 2
version 3
Critique with client
When having a meeting with my client about this app, she brought up a lot of point of weak points. Within this design which I'm going to fix in the revision here are some of those points
Need to start with a pop saying this is for learning.
The system is not very clear can't really tell that you can click on this island.
It's too vague and needs to be simpler.
There needs to be more order from start to finish within this design.
Thinking about trying to example this to your parents to help you with the design.
Showing level can help don't just put NFTs, Blockchain, and Crypto.
Here are some of the bull points we discussed within our meeting and were helpful.
4.Wrap Up
Wrap Up
After looking at all the data that I have gathered this flow needs to be completed, reworked, and revised a lot more I didn't expect it to be difficult for an older. Audience to understand this concept. This is one learning curve that has been learned throughout this process because everyone learns differently need to make it a lot simpler for people to understand
